What is the difference between a radiator and a charge air cooler?

The difference between a radiator and a charge air cooler is that the radiator is used to cool the coolant from the engine and a charge air cooler is used to cool the air from the turbo. A radiator is an important component that is part of a truck's cooling system. It's purpose is to dissipate excess heat that is generated during engine operation. A charge air cooler (CAC), also known as an intercooler, is a heat exchanger used to take the hot, compressed air from the turbo and cool it down before it enters the engine's intake manifold. Dura-Lite stocks a wide range of aftermarket heavy-duty truck radiators and charge air coolers. Find out more here...
